The client wanted to add a backsplash to give their contemporary kitchen a little more interest and finished look. They also wanted to add tile to the island base to enhance the look and keep it free from their young children's shoe and footprint marks. 

Contemporary 1"x 6" glass tile was placed vertically. On the island, neutral colored stone tile in a herringbone pattern gives a contemporary yet Asian feel and ties in with the Asian style counter stools. A honed (matte finish) tile won't show scuff marks.
